Japanese Cream Puff

Cream Puff, a typical Japanese snack is increasingly popular in Indonesia. Cream Puff is Choux combined with melted cream or custard. The combination of the savory taste of the puff and the creamy on the cream / custard really pamper the tongue. If you want to make Cream Puff at home, here’re some tips that you can follow so you don't fail when making Cream Puff.

There’re several things that will affect the quality of the taste and texture of the Cream Puff. The first tips is when making Choux dough make sure to put it in when the liquid and butter are boiling. Add at once so that Choux can expand perfectly and not easily deflated. Once the flour is added, stir it quickly until smooth.

The baking process is also an important factor. Make sure to bake the Choux until it rises so that it doesn't deflate when you take it out of the oven. Ideally the oven temperature when baking Choux is 200°C for 15 minutes with a dough weight of about 20 grams. When it's done, let the Choux cool down a bit. Then cut Choux into two parts.

Japanese Cream Puff has a distinctive filling and there’re many types. For the cream filling, you can add Niagara Farms, a dairy blend product with a strong milk taste. If you want to use cream with a chocolate flavor, you can add Whip Topping Chocolate which comes with a delicious chocolate flavor.
